Visiting with the Oliviers

Our dear friends from New Orleans, Brian and Nanette have to come to stay with us! Brian and Rich did their ortho residency together at LSU for 2 years. and Nanette and I became really good friends through them. They have a son, Preston, who is almost 3 and a daughter, Emersyn, who is 15 weeks. Perfect for our family. Anyways, they had to evacuate from Gustav and decided to come stay with us. They arrived today and we have had soo much fun already. We wish we were visiting under different circumstances, but glad they got to come stay with us. We love having them here. (esp Emma) I have already taken lots of pics, so check for more later. Here is what has been happening so far...... Preston eating supper. how cute is he?
Emma eating with Preston...
We bought them coloring books...lightning McQueen and Tinkerbell.....
Emersyn and McCool are only 2 weeks apart. They were so cute staring at each other. It's really neat because they are both doing the same things....(ex. finding their hands and feet)
McCool hanging out in the bouncy....
Emersyn hanging out...and she has on her cute outfit that we gave her before she was born....
Emma posing with them......

First visit to CHURCH

Finally, we made it back to church for the first time with baby McCool last Sunday. The morning started off wild. First of all, thanks to Tropical Storm Fay, it was raining terribly. It was our day to do the nursery. We still don't feel comfortable leaving McCool in the nursery right now, (due to his many reflux issues) , which means that he would have to stay with us and that only one of us would be able to keep the nursery. My sweet, sweet husband decided he would do the nursery himself. And that meant, i would have to get myself and 2 kids ready for church by MYSELF. Rich kept the 8:00 nursery and we met him at church for the 9:30 service. YAY. we were on time. I think i did pretty good. We got a great parking spot and still managed to get soaking wet. We picked a great Sunday to go back. So, McCool sat with us during church and did wonderful. He slept right up until the end of the sermon and we quickly gave him a bottle and he was fine! Rich, by accident, left his cute monogrammed pacifier holder on the bench. He went back to look for it and it was not there. I'm sure we'll find it on Sunday. Then, let me remind you that Rich is in his own vehicle and all 3 of us are in mine. And it's still raining, but harder. The traffic was terrible, which means we were not moving and McCool starts crying. And Emma starts crying because she wants a snack. mom forgot to bring a snack. At this point, i'm about ready to cry. So, i had to get out in the rain and put McCool's pacifier back in his mouth. Well, he spit it out and then started crying again. finally, i have to unbuckle Emma and let her sit by him and hold his pacifer in his mouth. (and we are still lined up in traffic trying to get to Lakeland) McCool was still not happy. So, i had a little bottle left over and had to let Emma give it to him. By this time, I called Rich. Oh, he had already made it home. I was so mad. Finally, we made it to Lakeland (took 20 minutes but seemed like 40 with 2 crying kids in the rain). What an exciting day. However, it was worth it to get back to church. The sermon was about being overwhelmed. I just kept repeating what Chip said in my head the entire way home. It turned out to be a great day. We love our pastor and our church and glad to be able to go back! Forgot to mention that i had enough time for a photo shoot before church. See pics below...my lil man and Emma ready for church!

Trip to OXFORD....

Rich's sister, Molly, and her family live in Oxford. And, Rich's parents moved to Oxford this May. Molly has 3 children. Shelby, Matthew, and Jane Anne. Jane Anne had her 1st birthday this past Sunday. So, we headed to Oxford for the big first birthday on Saturday. Usually takes us about 2 and 1/2 hours to get there, and Emma starts asking 10 minutes into the ride, "are we there yet?" She's too funny. She was so excited about going to see her cousins. She loves Matthew. They are very close in age and it works out perfect. (as you can see from the pics below) I wish we lived closer so they could see each other more! WE had a great time visiting with everyone and can't wait to do it again soon. (and shop of course) Rich's sister, Molly, feeding McCool....

HOW COULD YOU?

How could you steal my heart with just a tiny smile and giggle, melt away every sad thought so that I am lost in your joy, and be so lovely that sometimes I have to check your back for wings? No matter what, you are and always will be mommy's angel! i love you but sad that you are growing so fast.

She did FINE...

Well, we went to pick Emma up from school, and Ms. Cary was reading to them. When she opened the door, all the kids were running to see if their parents were out there. Emma spotted me and said, "hey mommy." She ran to me and said, "I played with all my friends." Needless to say, she made lots of friends and had a wonderful time. We then headed to lunch. While we were eating she said that she was tired. We then went home and got ready for nap time. When i tucked her in, she said, "mom, thanks for taking me to Ms. Cary's class today." Sooooo precious! that made me feel wonderful. She cannot wait to go back on Monday.

Emma's starts K3.....

Today, Emma started K3. She was really excited. We both did GREAT. (for a while)We pulled up to school and of course, Rich, would not get out with us. He said he didn't want to get McCool out, but i know the real reason. So, Emma and I got out and walked in. Ms. Cary was waiting on us outside the room. Emma found her chair and then started happily playing with all the toys. I told her that i was going to leave and pick her up after she was finished playing with all the toys. She said ok, I took this last picture and headed out. As soon as i walked outside, i started bawling. How could i leave her, i'm with her everyday, all day, every night, etc. But, i got in the car with Rich and McCool and i was much better. I cannot wait to pick her up and see what she says. She is truly an angel! Emma and her teacher, Ms. Cary....
Emma found her a chair as soon as we walked in....she was all smiles....
and then she found the KITCHEN.....
and her favorite, a DARBIE house (barbie, but we say darbie)
she loves to Empty things, so I'm sure whe will have this whole house emptied soon...

my sweet lil man
time to go to school....can you find EMMA???

sweet girl
eating breakfast-she wanted a special K bar

We went to see Emma's classroom on August 13th and to meet her friends. Emma headed straight for the dinosaurs.
She wanted to play with dinosaurs and the boys. who knows?

Emma was being really quiet in her room. (unusual) So, i decided to go check on her..This is what i found. She had her babies ready for class. We have talked so much about Ms. Cary and school, that she wants her babies to learn also...thought it was soo sweet... She decided that she would sit with them..

I love taking pictures of them together. It's just so hard to get them both to smile, etc...This pic was taken about a week ago and i just LOVE it..
